Scholarship Information

The parents of Bradley R. Smith, SrA, who was killed in action on January 3, 2010 have awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to area high school students. These scholarships honor the memory of Brad, his love of God, his country, Troy and Triad, and his desire to continue his education.

11 of these scholarships can be applied for through the guidance office at Triad High School.

3 of the scholarships will be awarded to students who have parents who are active duty military and or retired veterans and/or students who plan a career in the United States military. A committee from the VFW will choose these scholarships. The deadline for scholarships to be accepted is March 31.

7 are general scholarships and 1 will be an athletic scholarship. These will be chosen through Triad.

4 scholarships are through Bethel Baptist.

All students must be legal residents of the State of Illinois and must attend an accredited school, although it need not be an Illinois institution.

Three additional $1,000 scholarships are to be chosen through Bethel Baptist Church in Troy. These students must be no more than 24 years old, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and active in the youth department or college and career.

Students applying at Bethel do not have to attend Triad.
