Gary & Paula,
So very sorry for your loss. God Bless – Gary met you Saturday at the Abraham Lincoln Tomb on Saturday. Just was looking at the site and Bradley's pictures and his story. Was very moving to us when you told us the story of those Vietnam Veterans that visited you and your wife after Bradley's passing, and then telling us the story of what happened and his life and wife and granddaughter.

Always a great race…well organized. I think it is time to advance to chip timing and retire the old man and the clipboard, need more accuracy.
Also need mile markers
Consider adding a 1 mile fun run for stollers and dogs…creates unsafe trail trying to navigate around walkers, etc,…at least place stoller and wlaker to the rear of start line
I saw the signs around Shiloh, and looked up Brad online. Quite a story, my heart goes out to the family. I hope to participate in the next 5K (if you have walkers also), I'm still drilling with my Reserve unit this upcoming event. Brad sounds like a remarkable young man.
Had a great time at the 5th Annual Bradley R. Smith Memorial 5K. Felt good to see such a great turn out from the community. Looking forward to next years.
AWESOME MEMORIAL RUN AT POPE AAF!!!
Never had the honor to meet Bradley Smith, he seemed to be a great man. His name is never forgotten in the 14 ASOS and said often in the day Over 200 of us did a 5k this morning in his honor, we sweat but nothing could compare to sacrifice he gave.
It is an honor to serve in the shadows of men like Brad. This morning's run is just one way we want express our gratitude to Brad and his family for the sacrifices they have made in the defense of this great nation.
While I did not know Brad, as an Airman, I was honored to run for him today and to pay tribute to his sacrifice.
Thank you and your family for your sacrifice. You are never forgotten!
Great run for a great cause. Event enjoyed 150+.
Great run for a great cause!
ran the 5K at Pope AAF today. Probably had around 200 of us from the 18 ASOG, 682 AS0S, 14 ASOS, and 18 WS. Keep the motivation.
Today was a great run in honor of Brad. He is remembered daily and always will be by his TACP family.
I was apart of a 5k memorial run for brad smith today (5Sept14) on Pope Army Airfield. The entire 18th ASOG participated in the 5k. Although i didn't know Brad personally, i thoroughly enjoyed memorializing Brad before during and after the run. So sorry for you loss.
I just learned about this run. So I plan to spread the word on this and recruite more for next year's race. Until then, I can't wait to run for my fellow airmen.
The TACP here at Pope Army Airfield in North Carolina will be running the Brad Smith 5K tomorrow in order to honor Brad and to try and raise money for the scholarship fund.
Is there a place where I can post pics of the event????? Thanks.

Looking forward to running another race in memory of a great man who I had the privledge to teach (in Royal Ambassadors and as a Sunday School sub).
I am not in good shape and have just started running again… so every 100 yards will be painful. It is good to suffer. Without suffering there is no gain.
I'm very much looking forward to coming down for the race again this year. I live in Chicago and my brother, a JTAC, was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and we both agreed to meet up for the run, last year. I was honored to witness Brad's Silver Star ceremony and to contribute to his scholarship. Everything I've read about and heard of Brad is both humbling and inspiring. I am proud to play a small part in keeping his legacy alive. Good luck to everyone running on Saturday. I am grateful for the opportunity to be there.
Gary & Paula,Somehow I missed getting the information about your son, Brad's death. Marvin & I are heartbroken for you. How well we remember our time in Florida getting to know you! We grieve with you and hope to see you again sometime. May God bless you with His grace & peace. Love, Mary Lou Bowler
Today I met Brad's father at the House of Representatives. I heard them read the death resolution and heard of Brad's bravery. I didn't know him before he passed but sounds like an amazing man. I was there for Brad's reading because there was also a reading for my brother.
From one gold star family member to another, thank you for all that you did do and will do.
Wow, this is beyond amazing. One day I would like to start a memorial scholarship for my brother as well, Army Spc. Vilmar Galarza who was killed in action 6 months ago.
My most sincere condolences for his family.
Gary & Paula,
We think of you often and we hope to be a part if Bradley’s run next year.
Dave and Diane
What a great day!!! This was a family event for me. I ran with my daughter and granddaughter and had a great time.
It was a beautiful day for a run, and an honor to be running for such an outstanding Airman.
Blessings to Brad and his family
Gary & Paula-
I wish I could have been there this year to run for brad, I am deployed right now in the desert though and not due back for another month. Your family has been in my thoughts so much lately, brad was so brave, I hope we all make him proud.
Great day for a run! Glad to be a part of it. Does anyone know where the race results will be posted?
Mike, as soon as Toolen’s posts the results, I will either post them here or I will put a link to their page. I would guess next week sometime. I’ll put the link and/or results under the Run!! tab.
What a wonderful day for a Run! Everything went so smoothly. All of your hard work really paid off. It was a great event. Glad to be a small part of this tribute to Brad.
